SPEC OVERVIEW, CORRECT FOR

What Goes Into an AMD Ryzen Custom PC

Every AMD custom PC is configured from scratch. These are the four components that define performance and value at each tier.

Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 5 to Ryzen 9 X3D. AM5 socket platform with DDR5 support and longevity. The Ryzen 9 X3D tier uses 3D V-Cache technology, which delivers the highest gaming frame rates available in 2026. AMD and Intel CPUs are platform-incompatible and cannot be mixed on the same build.
Memory (RAM)
DDR5 as standard across all AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series builds. 16GB for gaming and home office use. 32GB for streaming, video editing, or workloads that run multiple demanding applications simultaneously. 64GB for professional workstation builds.
Graphics Card (GPU)
Your choice of GPU, regardless of platform. AMD Ryzen pairs with both NVIDIA GeForce (RTX 5060 to RTX 5090) and AMD Radeon (RX 9070 XT and above). The GPU determines your resolution target and frame rate ceiling. AMD CPU does not require AMD GPU: choose based on performance and budget.
Storage (SSD)
NVMe M.2 SSD as standard. 1TB covers gaming builds and home office use. 2TB suits simulation, video editing, and large game libraries. 4TB available for workstation builds with large project files. NVMe storage loads Windows in seconds and eliminates the loading screens that older hard drives produced.

AMD RYZEN PLATFORM

AMD Ryzen: Built for Gaming and High-Core Workloads

The AMD Ryzen X3D range uses 3D V-Cache technology: extra cache memory stacked directly on the processor die. Most games access CPU cache constantly, and the larger the cache, the fewer times the processor has to wait for data from slower memory. In practice, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D deliver 10 to 20% higher frame rates than equivalent Intel processors in gaming-specific benchmarks. For buyers whose primary goal is the highest possible gaming performance, X3D is the platform to build on.

All current Ryzen 7000 and 9000 series processors use the AM5 socket. AM5 is AMD's current-generation platform, and AMD has committed to supporting it through multiple processor generations. A build you configure today with a Ryzen 7 7700X is upgradeable to a Ryzen 9 X3D later without replacing the motherboard. That longevity is genuinely useful for buyers who want to upgrade incrementally rather than replace the whole system.

AMD Ryzen CPUs pair with any GPU regardless of brand. An AMD processor does not require an AMD graphics card. Pair a Ryzen 9 X3D with an NVIDIA RTX 5080 or an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT depending on which GPU fits your budget and resolution target. Kevin will advise on the right pairing for your specific use case.

One important note: AMD and Intel components are not interchangeable. An AMD Ryzen CPU requires an AMD-compatible AM5 motherboard. An Intel CPU requires an Intel-compatible motherboard. If you configure an AMD build, every component must be selected for the AMD platform. Ginger6 handles compatibility checking as part of the configuration process.

TRUST AND REPUTATION

Why Customers Rate Ginger6 Higher Than PCSpecialist

93% of Ginger6 customers leave five-star reviews on Trustpilot. PCSpecialist sits at 79%. That 14-point gap does not come from marketing. It comes from the model. PCSpecialist processes thousands of orders through separate sales, build, and support teams. When something goes wrong, the person you speak to has never seen your machine. At Ginger6, the person who answers your call builds your PC, tests it, and picks up the phone when you call afterwards.

Kevin will tell you honestly when a lower-spec processor or GPU covers your actual use case. He has been doing this since 2001, which means he has had enough conversations about overspend and under-spec to know when a configuration is wrong before the order is placed. That is what the Trustpilot reviews mean when they say "talked me out of spending more than I needed to."

The 3-year warranty covers the complete system, not individual components. Lifetime technical support has no expiry date. The same phone number reaches the person who built your PC. Read the full story at our custom PC builder page.

After 5 to 10 minutes on the phone I realised I had ordered things I didn't really need. They suggested better graphics cards to go with the AMD processor and now I'm playing at much quicker speeds than before.

I chose Ginger6 to build me a gaming PC and was given such a fantastic service from start to finish. They were never too busy to answer any questions or give me advice on my build. The delivery time was fast and the PC was packaged really well. The build looks fantastic and runs like a dream.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

3D V-Cache is a technology AMD uses on its X3D processors that stacks extra cache memory directly on the CPU die. Games access CPU cache constantly, and a larger cache means the processor can hold more data ready to use without waiting for slower system memory. In practice, Ryzen X3D processors deliver 10 to 20% higher frame rates than equivalent Intel processors in most gaming titles, making them the strongest gaming CPUs available in 2026. They do not make a significant difference to productivity workloads where cache size is less of a factor.

For pure gaming, AMD Ryzen X3D is currently the stronger choice. The 3D V-Cache architecture gives it a consistent frame rate advantage over Intel in CPU-sensitive titles. Intel performs better for mixed workloads: if you game and also do sustained video editing, 3D rendering, or heavy streaming, Intel's higher multi-threaded throughput is more useful. If your primary goal is the highest possible frame rates in games, AMD Ryzen X3D is where to start.

No. AMD Ryzen processors require an AMD-compatible AM5 motherboard. Intel Core processors require an Intel-compatible LGA 1851 or LGA 1700 motherboard. The two platforms are physically and electrically incompatible. You cannot fit a Ryzen CPU to an Intel motherboard or vice versa. When you configure an AMD custom PC at Ginger6, every component is selected for AMD platform compatibility. Ginger6 handles all compatibility checking as part of the build process.

Any GPU works with an AMD Ryzen CPU. You are not restricted to AMD Radeon graphics on an AMD platform. NVIDIA GeForce RTX cards pair perfectly with Ryzen processors. The right GPU depends on your resolution target: an RTX 5060 Ti or RTX 5070 for 1440p, an RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 for 4K. AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and above are also strong options at 1440p and 4K. Kevin will advise on the right pairing for your specific use case and budget.

Browse the AMD custom PC range above and use the product page dropdowns to select your components: processor tier, GPU, memory, storage, case, and cooling. Each product page shows your configuration options as you build. If you prefer to discuss the specification first, call Kevin on 01902 714533 or email [email protected]. He will recommend the right build for your use case and walk you through the options before you commit to an order.

Every Ginger6 AMD custom PC includes a 3-year warranty covering the complete system: parts and postage for the first year, labour for three years. Lifetime technical support is included at no extra cost. If something goes wrong, call 01902 714533 and you will speak to the person who built your machine. There is no separate support team and no ticket system to navigate.
