Ultra 7 Flight Sim Gaming PC

G6 Sonic FSX4: Where Flagship Flight Sim Performance Begins

The G6 Sonic FSX4 is Ginger6’s flagship-tier flight simulation PC, built around the Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF (20 cores, 5.5 GHz boost) and the NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti 16GB. This is the build for the sim pilot who flies 4K, runs serious VR, or drives triple-monitor cockpit setups, paired with 32GB DDR5 (2x16GB) Dual Channel and a 360mm AIO for sustained-load reliability. Hand-built in Wolverhampton and 24-hour stress-tested before despatch.

It sits at the start of the flagship tier within our flight simulator PC range, the broader simulation titles catalogue, and our wider Ginger6 gaming PC catalogue, paired with an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB and the Intel Core Ultra 7 platform on the new Z890 board. The FSX4 pairs the Ultra 7 265KF with a premium Z890 board for PCIe 5.0 storage, Wi-Fi 7-ready headroom, and the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB — a full tier above the FSX2’s RTX 5060 Ti. Sim pilots who want 32GB DDR5 from the start and the full flagship board spec without moving to the i9 tier will find this the right rung. Browse the wider Intel Gaming PC catalogue for platform context.

Wondering whether the FSX4 is enough or whether you should step up to the FSX5 with the i9 14900KF and RTX 5080, or the FSX6 with the RTX 5090? Call Kevin on 01902 714533. He flies sims himself and will give you a straight answer about whether your aircraft, scenery, and display setup actually need the next step up.

Why Each Component Was Chosen

Every component in the FSX4 was selected for flagship-tier sim workloads. Here is what each part does and why it matters when you push to 4K, VR, or triple monitors. See our broader Intel Core Ultra 7 gaming PC range for platform context.

Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF: Processor

The Ultra 7 265KF is Intel’s new-generation flagship-class chip. 20 cores (8 Performance + 12 Efficiency) and a 5.5 GHz boost handle MSFS 2024 scenery streaming, weather systems, AI traffic, and concurrent SimConnect, VATSIM, and streaming workloads without bleeding into the sim’s critical path. Unlocked for overclocking. Upgradeable to the Core Ultra 9 285KF for further multi-thread headroom.

NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti 16GB: Graphics Card

The RTX 5070 Ti is the GPU that makes 4K High and 1440p Ultra in MSFS 2024 a comfortable reality, with serious VR headroom that 12GB and below cannot match. 16GB VRAM lets you run photogrammetry cities, ortho scenery, payware airports, and high-resolution liveries simultaneously without VRAM pressure. DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation closes the gap to the RTX 5080. For 4K Ultra everywhere and triple-monitor cockpit setups, the FSX5 (RTX 5080) and FSX6 (RTX 5090) are the next steps.

2 × 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD: Dual Storage

Dual NVMe drives are standard. Running Windows and the simulator on one drive while keeping add-ons, scenery, and liveries on a second cuts loading conflicts and keeps the add-on library tidy. MSFS 2024 installations with full add-on libraries routinely exceed 300GB, and professional scenery packs add hundreds of gigabytes more. The Z890 UD supports up to 4 M.2 drives including PCIe 5.0 options like the Kingston Fury Renegade G5, configurable above.

32GB Kingston Fury DDR5 5200MHz: Memory

32GB arrives as a 2x16GB dual-channel memory kit, the correct baseline for serious 4K and VR MSFS 2024 use. The simulator regularly consumes 24–28GB with a full add-on package, and DCS World in VR can approach similar figures. The Ultra 7 platform delivers the bandwidth this kit is designed for. Upgradeable to a 64GB (2x32GB) dual-channel kit if you run extreme scenery configurations, multi-monitor VR, or use the machine for video editing alongside sim flying.

Gigabyte Z890 UD WIFI6E: Motherboard

The Z890 UD WIFI6E adds PCIe 5.0 storage, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports on the rear panel. The Z890 platform also opens the path to USB4 and Wi-Fi 7 with future board upgrades. For home cockpit users running yoke, throttle, rudder pedals, headset, and TrackIR, rear-panel USB provision matters; this board provides headroom for serious peripheral counts.

360mm AIO Liquid Cooler: Processor Cooling

The Ultra 7 265KF runs hot under sustained sim load, particularly in dense add-on environments where flight sim drives CPU and GPU hard for hours at a time. A 360mm AIO provides the thermal headroom to sustain full boost clocks throughout a long-haul flight without throttling. ARGB fans are included as standard. Multiple cooler options including the Corsair Nautilus 360 are available above for users preferring a branded unit.

850W 80+ Gold PSU: Power Supply

The 850W Gold unit provides the appropriate headroom for the Ultra 7 + RTX 5070 Ti pairing with comfortable margin for sustained load. Gold efficiency drops less heat into the case under load, helping the 360mm AIO stay quiet. Upgradeable to the Corsair RM1000 or HX1200 Platinum if you plan a future RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 upgrade.

Connectivity: Ports & Networking

The Z890 UD rear panel provides 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 4x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, 4x USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, and Gigabit LAN. The RTX 5070 Ti adds 3x DisplayPort 2.1 and 1x HDMI 2.1, supporting up to four displays for triple monitor setups plus a side display. For larger USB peripheral counts, the 4-port USB 3.0 expansion card is available via the PCI-E Slot 2 option above.

Why This Build

Built for Flagship-Tier Sim Flying

The FSX4 is the entry into our flagship tier: 4K-capable, VR-ready, triple-monitor-capable, with a new-generation Intel platform that runs MSFS 2024 the way it was intended to be flown.

4K High and 1440p Ultra at Sustained Frame Rates

The RTX 5070 Ti 16GB and DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation make 4K High and 1440p Ultra MSFS 2024 a comfortable proposition with payware airports and live weather. 4K gaming is no longer a stretch goal at this tier.

Serious VR Flight Sim

The RTX 5070 Ti drives MSFS 2024 in VR at high quality with comfortable headroom for the Meta Quest 3, HP Reverb G2, and Pimax Crystal Light. Reprojection becomes rare in most areas; that is the comfort line for genuine VR sim flying.

Triple Monitor and Home Cockpit Ready

The RTX 5070 Ti supports up to four displays via three DisplayPort 2.1 and one HDMI 2.1 output. Triple 1440p or 4K wide-view arrangements are well within reach for home cockpit setups, with a fourth display available for navigation, weather, or charts.

New-Generation Z890 Platform

The Z890 UD board delivers PCIe 5.0 storage, USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 (20 Gbps), Wi-Fi 6E, and headroom for future USB4 / Wi-Fi 7 upgrades. Sim users with growing peripheral counts benefit from the modern I/O.

Sim Setup Support Included

Call Kevin after delivery for graphics settings, controller calibration, add-on installation, and performance tuning for your specific simulator, aircraft, scenery, and display configuration. Lifetime free UK phone support, not a chatbot or ticket queue.

Built for Long-Haul Flight

32GB Dual Channel memory, 850W Gold PSU, 360mm AIO, dual NVMe storage. Every choice protects sustained sim performance across multi-hour flights, where most sim machines start to fade.

Simulator Compatibility

What It’s Like to Fly on the G6 Sonic FSX4

The FSX4 is configured for every major flight simulator at flagship-tier settings. Here is what you can expect from each one.

Commercial aircraft in flight above clouds
Primary Target
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

At 4K with High settings (DLSS 4 Quality), the RTX 5070 Ti and Ultra 7 265KF deliver frame rates comfortably above 60 fps in demanding scenery. At 1440p Ultra, frame rates well exceed 100 fps with DLSS 4. Multi Frame Generation makes photogrammetry cities and complex approaches practical without compromise. For consistent 4K Ultra everywhere, the FSX5 with the RTX 5080 is the next step.

Aircraft cockpit instruments and displays
VR Flight Simulation
Full VR Headset Support

The RTX 5070 Ti is the entry into genuinely comfortable VR flight sim. With a Meta Quest 3 or HP Reverb G2 at high quality, MSFS 2024 in VR runs smoothly with reprojection rare in most areas. For Pimax Crystal at maximum quality, step up to the FSX5 or FSX6 for additional GPU headroom.

Military fighter jet aircraft in flight
Combat Simulation
DCS World

DCS World runs strongly on the FSX4 at 1440p Ultra and 4K High, including in large multiplayer missions where AI unit management hits the CPU hard. The 20-core 265KF and 16GB VRAM cover both pinch points. DCS in VR is genuinely practical here for the first time without major settings compromises.

Aircraft on approach with runway lights at night
Classic & Professional
X-Plane 12 & Prepar3D

X-Plane 12’s Vulkan renderer scales well with the RTX 5070 Ti 16GB, and large orthophoto scenery packs are handled cleanly by the dual NVMe configuration. Prepar3D and legacy FSX benefit from the 265KF’s 5.5 GHz single-thread boost, which these older simulators rely on.

Peripherals That Match This Machine

The FSX4 drives any peripheral combination you can throw at it. Here is what Ginger6 customers typically pair with a machine at this level, and what to think about when choosing.

Monitor & Display Setup

The RTX 5070 Ti supports up to four displays. A single 1440p 144Hz or 4K 120Hz monitor is the most popular pairing at this tier. For wide-view immersion, a triple 1440p arrangement works well. Call Kevin for a recommendation for your specific simulator and desk setup.

Yoke, HOTAS & Throttle

The FSX4 handles any USB controller combination without USB bandwidth issues. Popular choices at this level include the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, Thrustmaster TCA Airbus, and Virpil MongoosT-50 for combat sim.

VR Headset

The RTX 5070 Ti is the entry into comfortable VR flight sim. Compatible with Meta Quest 3, HP Reverb G2, Pimax Crystal Light, and Varjo Aero via USB or DisplayPort. Call Kevin to discuss the right headset for your use case and budget.

Headset & Audio

For flight sim, a good headset transforms ATC communication and ambient immersion. USB headsets work out of the box. For audiophile-level audio, an ASUS STRIX SOAR soundcard is available via the PCI-E Slot 2 option above.

Rudder Pedals

Rudder pedals are the most impactful single upgrade for fixed-wing realism. Popular choices include the Thrustmaster TFRP, CH Products Pro Pedals, and the MFG Crosswind for precision. All connect via USB and are fully supported.

Head Tracking

Head tracking via TrackIR or Tobii Eye Tracker 5 adds a further dimension of immersion without VR cost and setup. Both are plug and play with MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, and DCS World.

FAQ

Questions About the G6 Sonic FSX4

At 4K with High settings and DLSS 4 Quality, the RTX 5070 Ti and Ultra 7 265KF deliver frame rates comfortably above 60 fps in most scenery. At 1440p Ultra, frame rates well exceed 100 fps with DLSS 4 enabled. In the most demanding photogrammetry cities with payware airports and live traffic, figures will be lower. For guaranteed 4K Ultra everywhere, the FSX5 with the RTX 5080 is the next step.
The FSX3 uses the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D and RTX 5070; its 3D V-Cache CPU is particularly strong in single-threaded scenery streaming. The FSX4 steps up to a 20-core Intel Ultra 7 265KF on the new Z890 platform plus the RTX 5070 Ti (a tier above the RTX 5070). The FSX4 is the right choice if you want comfortable 4K, more multitasking headroom for streaming and recording, and the modern Z890 I/O for future upgrades.
Yes. The RTX 5070 Ti supports up to four displays (3x DisplayPort 2.1, 1x HDMI 2.1) for triple-monitor or wide-view cockpit setups. The 20-core 265KF handles background processing for SimConnect applications, cockpit software, and external hardware panels. For very large home cockpits with many USB peripherals, the 4-port USB 3.0 expansion card via the PCI-E Slot 2 option above is recommended.
Yes, comfortably. The RTX 5070 Ti is the entry into genuinely smooth VR flight sim. MSFS 2024 in VR at high quality with a Meta Quest 3, HP Reverb G2, or Pimax Crystal Light runs well. For Pimax Crystal or Varjo Aero at maximum quality, the FSX5 or FSX6 give you more GPU headroom.
Yes. The LGA1851 socket supports the Core Ultra 9 285KF. The Z890 UD has four DDR5 RAM slots supporting up to 128GB, multiple M.2 slots including PCIe 5.0, and the 850W Gold PSU provides headroom for an RTX 5080 upgrade. If you want to step up to an RTX 5090 you would also upgrade the PSU. Call Kevin when you are ready to upgrade.
The standard Bronze warranty covers 1 year of parts and labour plus 2 additional years of labour-only cover. The Silver option extends parts and labour cover to 2 years. The Gold option provides full parts and labour cover for all 3 years. All options include lifetime free UK phone support. For a machine of this specification, Gold cover is worth considering.
