Intel Core i5 12400F Nvidia RTX 3050 Gaming PC - G6 Infinity X1
Description
G6 Infinity X1: The i5 Sweet Spot at 1080p
The G6 Infinity X1 pairs Intel’s 6-core Core i5 12400F (6 Performance cores, 4.40 GHz Turbo, 18MB Smart Cache) with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB for 1080p gaming. The 12400F is the i5 most 1080p gaming buyers should be looking at: a mature 6-core part on the settled LGA1700 platform, with the cache and frequency modern gaming engines reward, at the i5 price point structurally below the Storm i7 tier. Hand-built in Wolverhampton against the same workshop process Ginger6 has run since 2001, the G6 Infinity X1 ships fully tested with a 3-year warranty and lifetime UK phone support.
The Infinity range is built around one CPU: the i5 12400F. What changes from G6 Infinity X1 up or down the ladder is the GPU, the case, and the PSU sized to match. That is the range design: the i5 thread count and cache stay constant, the GPU you actually need decides the build. Step across to the G6 Infinity X2 with the Blackwell RTX 5050 8GB for the 1080p entry build's natural sibling, or to the G6 Infinity X3 with the RTX 5060 8GB for the alternative path at this price band. Not certain which Infinity is the right one for your monitor and the games you play? Call Kevin on 01902 714533. He builds the machine, answers the phone, and gives a straight answer based on your setup, not a sales tier.
Inside the Vida Lucid mid-tower, the 12400F runs under the Intel stock cooler, sized for the 65W base power and the sustained gaming load this build is sold for (a 1-4 core gaming workload sits comfortably below the cooler's sustained-load ceiling). ARGB case fans on the Vida Lucid handle case airflow. The Gigabyte H610M K V2 carries the LGA1700 socket with the H610M chipset, two DDR5 DIMM slots populated with 16GB DDR5 5200MHz (2x8GB) Dual Channel memory in dual-channel mode, an M.2 NVMe slot for the included 1TB Gen 4 SSD, 1GbE Realtek LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity supplied by an included 300Mbps USB Wi-Fi adapter. Power comes from the 500w G6 80+ Bronze PSU, sized with sustained-load headroom above the 12400F plus RTX 3050 combination. The G6 Infinity X1 sits inside our £1000 gaming PC tier and the wider Intel gaming PC range, specifically the Intel Core i5 gaming PC range. Browse the full Ginger6 gaming PC catalogue, the RTX 3050 gaming PC range, or the 1080p gaming PC range for context.
The G6 Infinity X1 is suited to competitive shooters like Valorant, to open world and RPG games like GTA 5, and to simulation titles like iRacing at 1080p, plus the wider Ginger6 catalogue for any title not named here.
What’s Inside the G6 Infinity X1
Every component selected for 1080p gaming on the i5 12400F platform. Dual-channel DDR5 in the canonical 2x8GB kit, NVMe Gen 4 storage, ARGB case fans on the Vida Lucid, and the PSU sized with the headroom the RTX 3050 actually needs under load.
The i5 + RTX 3050 1080p Sweet Spot
Three reasons the G6 Infinity X1 is the build that lands on this spec.
12400F: Six Cores That Hold the Game
The i5 12400F carries 6 Performance cores and 12 threads with 18MB Intel Smart Cache and the 4.40 GHz Turbo. That is enough thread count for the 1080p competitive rotation plus voice chat, browser, and a recording stack alongside. The 1080p game runs on the cores, the background workload does not push the cores into thermal throttle on the stock cooler.
RTX 3050 6GB: 1080p Sized, Honestly Priced
The RTX 3050 6GB is the GPU that lands the build at the £920 entry of the i5 range. Competitive shooters run well above 144 fps at 1080p high settings, and the current AAA rotation holds 1080p high comfortably. The 6GB VRAM is the right capacity for the 1080p target this build is sold for. If you want ray tracing comfortable or 1080p Ultra headroom, the step up is the X2 or X3.
H610M K V2 + Dual-Channel DDR5: No Bottleneck
The Gigabyte H610M K V2 carries the mature LGA1700 socket and 16GB of DDR5 5200MHz in the canonical dual-channel kit form, so the memory controller runs at full bandwidth from boot. No single-stick handicap. The PSU is the 500w G6 80+ Bronze, sized with headroom above the i5 12400F plus RTX 3050 combination.
What the G6 Infinity X1 Plays
Four workloads the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB on the i5 12400F is sized for at 1080p.
Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, and the rest of the esports rotation run with frame rates well above any high-refresh 1080p panel on the RTX 3050. 1% lows stay clean because the i5 12400F carries the network thread, voice chat, and a recording stack on the cores while the game runs at speed.
Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy, the latest open-world releases, and the AAA rotation sit at 1080p high settings on the RTX 3050. DLSS quality lifts the demanding scenes higher still. For 1080p Ultra or comfortable ray tracing, the X2 and X3 step ups are the natural buy.
Minecraft, Valheim, The Forest, 7 Days to Die, and the sandbox/survival rotation sit comfortably on the RTX 3050. The 6GB VRAM allocation holds the world streaming without stutter; the i5's six cores carry the simulation tick and the chunk-load thread without contention.
iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Forza Motorsport on a 1080p panel sit well on the RTX 3050. Triple-monitor setups and Ultra settings on the latest sim titles are the workload for the X2/X3 step-up tier; single-monitor 1080p at high settings is the X1's target window.
Where the G6 Infinity X1 Sits in the i5 Stack
The Infinity X1 is the entry point of the Infinity range, the 1080p starter build on the i5 12400F sweet spot. The same 12400F (6 cores, 4.40 GHz Turbo, 18MB cache) that ships in the £1,169.99 G6 Infinity X6 sits inside this £919.99 build. The lever that changes as you move up the ladder is the GPU, with the case and PSU sized to match. The Infinity range sits one step above the i3 12100F Vortex range (4 cores) and one step below the i7 12700F Storm range (12 cores) on the same LGA1700 platform. The i5 is the gaming sweet spot for buyers who do not need extra threads for streaming or heavy multitasking; the i7 step up is the buy when you do.
At 1080p, the RTX 3050 6GB lands the build at the right price-to-frame point. Competitive shooters run well above 144 fps at 1080p high settings; modern AAA at 1080p high holds comfortably. If you want current-generation Blackwell DLSS 4 support, comfortable ray tracing, or 1080p Ultra headroom, the X2 with the RTX 5050 or the X3 with the RTX 5060 is the natural step.
Every Infinity X1 is hand-built in Wolverhampton against the workshop process Ginger6 has run since 2001. Cable management routes the GPU power cable behind the cable shroud for sustained airflow inside the Vida Lucid, BIOS and firmware are confirmed before the 24-hour test begins, and lifetime UK phone support means Kevin is reachable when you need him.

- The games you play most often
- Your monitor resolution and refresh rate
- Whether you stream, record, or edit alongside gaming
- Your approximate budget

Who the G6 Infinity X1 Is For
Four buyer profiles where the G6 Infinity X1 is the right answer. If your situation matches one of these, the build fits.
You want a hand-built PC that runs your competitive rotation comfortably at 1080p high settings on a 144 Hz monitor, and you want the budget headroom for a future GPU upgrade without having to swap the CPU or motherboard. The RTX 3050 on the i5 12400F lands the build at the £920 entry of the i5 range with the LGA1700 upgrade path open.
You are moving from a console to a PC for the first time and you want a hand-built machine that just works on day one, not a build-it-yourself project. The X1 ships fully tested, with Windows 11 Home installed, drivers confirmed, and the 24-hour stress test completed before despatch. Lifetime UK phone support is included; Kevin builds the machine and answers the phone.
You want a PC that handles the 1080p AAA rotation, the competitive titles your friends play, and the day-to-day office workload, on a budget the i9 and i7 tiers simply cannot match. The X1 is the i5 sweet spot in the cheapest configuration Ginger6 offers in the Infinity range.
You want the CPU and motherboard sorted now, with a GPU sized for current gaming, and the option to step the GPU up in 12-18 months when your monitor or rotation rewards the upgrade. The LGA1700 socket on the H610M K V2 board has the upgrade path; the 500w PSU has enough headroom for a one-tier GPU step-up later.
What Our Customers Say

Bought a PC package from Ginger 6 for son in 2021 which has been excellent and have had no issues. We were struggling with a software upgrade issue recently and after a phone call were able to take it straight in and the guys there sorted it out, explained what was happening and were incredibly helpful and patient with non techy minds. Exceptional service.
After several years of home brew building I decided to purchase a Custom Built PC from Ginger 6. What a fantastic company. I picked all the components from a custom menu and several days later my computer arrived. It works straight out of the box. The build quality is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.
Emailed them with questions on a Sunday night and was amazed to get a response straight away. Ordered that night asking if they could deliver by Friday if possible as it was my son's birthday, but as it was a custom build I did not expect them to be able to do it. To my surprise the computer was delivered on Thursday, all as ordered and my son was over the moon.
Built by Hand in Wolverhampton
Every G6 Infinity X1 goes through the same three-stage workshop process. The 24-hour stress test is the gate that holds dispatch.
Before assembly begins, the configuration is reviewed against the games you play, the monitor you own, and any creative work or streaming you run alongside gaming. If you have spoken to Kevin, the build sheet reflects that conversation. Components are verified against current stock, the Intel stock cooler mounting hardware is confirmed for the LGA1700 socket on the Vida Lucid, and the build is queued in the workshop schedule. No shortcuts on stock substitution: the part on the order is the part in the build.
The G6 Infinity X1 is assembled inside the Vida Lucid mid-tower. The Intel stock cooler is seated on the i5 12400F with the cold-plate contact verified, and the ARGB case fans on the front and rear are configured for direct intake to the cooler stack. The RTX 3050 is seated with the anti-sag bracket. Cable management routes the GPU power cable behind the cable shroud, away from the front intake, which supports better airflow inside the case. BIOS settings, DDR5 5200MHz dual-channel mode, NVMe boot order, the on-board firmware update, and the included 300Mbps USB Wi-Fi adapter driver are all confirmed before the 24-hour test begins.
Every G6 Infinity X1 runs sustained CPU plus GPU load for a full day before it ships. The test loop covers thermal behaviour under sustained boost on the stock cooler, memory stability under DDR5 5200MHz dual-channel timing, NVMe storage performance under sustained read/write, and frame-pacing behaviour in the 1080p competitive rotation. The i5 12400F is monitored for thermal headroom across all 6 cores; the RTX 3050 is held at sustained boost. Boost behaviour, fan curves, stock-cooler thermal performance, and storage performance are all logged before despatch. Your G6 Infinity X1 ships free to mainland UK addresses, fully insured and tracked.
- Thermal behaviour under sustained load
- Processor and graphics stability during extended use
- Memory responsiveness and system stability
- Storage performance and consistency
- BIOS and firmware stability
- Frame pacing in modern AAA at 1080p

Questions About the G6 Infinity X1
The G6 Infinity X1 sits at £919.99 as configured: i5 12400F, RTX 3050 6GB, 16GB DDR5 5200MHz (2x8GB) Dual Channel, 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Home, 3-year warranty, free UK mainland delivery. That price reflects the 1080p entry of the i5 sweet spot: enough CPU for the gaming workload without paying for the i7 thread count, enough GPU for 1080p high settings on the competitive rotation, and a 3-year warranty making the build viable as a 3-to-5 year machine. Hand-built in Wolverhampton, stress-tested for 24 hours, supported by lifetime UK phone support.
Yes, at 1080p high settings. The RTX 3050 6GB on the i5 12400F holds the modern AAA rotation at 1080p high comfortably above 60 fps in most titles. For 1080p Ultra or ray tracing on, the X2 with the RTX 5050 or the X3 with the RTX 5060 is the natural step up. For competitive shooters at 1080p, frame rates sit well above 144 fps. The 6GB of GDDR6 is sized correctly for the 1080p entry target this build is sold for.
The X1 carries the Ampere RTX 3050 6GB at £919.99; the X2 carries the Blackwell RTX 5050 8GB at £1,009.99. Both share the i5 12400F, the Gigabyte H610M K V2 board, the Intel stock cooler, the 500w G6 80+ Bronze PSU, the 16GB DDR5 5200MHz (2x8GB) Dual Channel kit, and the 1TB Gen 4 NVMe drive. The X1 sits in the Vida Lucid; the X2 sits in the Vida Sirocco. The X1 is the 1080p entry build on the previous Nvidia generation; the X2 is the current Blackwell-generation step up with DLSS 4 support.
The i5 12400F is the gaming sweet spot on the LGA1700 platform. Six Performance cores carry the modern gaming workload comfortably; 18MB Smart Cache and 4.40 GHz Turbo cover the frame-time-sensitive titles. The i3 12100F (4 cores, Vortex range) is the cheaper step down for buyers playing primarily competitive esports; the i7 12700F (12 cores, Storm range) is the step up when you want to stream or record alongside gaming. The i5 is the gaming sweet spot for buyers who play one game at a time.
For 1080p gaming, yes. 16GB DDR5 5200MHz arrives as a 2x8GB dual-channel kit (the canonical Ginger6 form, never a single stick) so the memory controller runs at full bandwidth from boot. The H610M K V2 board has two DDR5 DIMM slots; if your workload scales into heavier creator work, a like-for-like step up to 32GB (2x16GB) dual-channel is the obvious first move.
Two upgrade paths. Add a USB Wi-Fi adapter that includes Bluetooth at checkout, or step the motherboard up in the configurator to a B760M-class board with onboard Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Either path keeps the rest of the build identical.
Yes. The LGA1700 socket supports current-generation Intel chips; the Gigabyte H610M K V2 has two DDR5 DIMM slots, the M.2 slot for the boot drive, a SATA upgrade path for secondary storage, and the 500w G6 80+ Bronze PSU has the headroom for a one-tier GPU upgrade in future. A 2TB Gen 4 NVMe drive is the obvious first upgrade as your library grows.

I have had my PC for two years now and Review by Tringbirds
Value Quality Price Customer Service I have had my PC for two years now and have never regretted buying my PC from Ginger6. Initially I discussed my needs as I wanted a PC capable of coping with video/dvd creation. I use a professional video editing programme and whereas my old PC took all morning to transcode, the Ginger6 specification does this in spectacularly double quick time. A 2.6gb video ( not too many transitions and effects) can be ready to view within an hour.
Two years later I need to add an additional HD and the advice was as informative as when I first bought the PC.
Anyone working with video cannot go wrong with Ginger6. A bespoke machine with unbelievable performance. (Posted on 14/08/2018) -

Value Quality Price Customer Service Minor issues arose during my PC build (required colour neon cooling fans) - this was quickly advised and an agreed resolution discussed and agreed.
This did not impact the build time and my new PC was delivered before Christmas as I'd been advised.
Very happy with the quality of the PC build, the internal cabling very neat and tidy, great PC and an excellent Customer service too.
I've recommended G6 to my friends and family :) (Posted on 08/01/2017) -
