Intel Core i7 12700F Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti Gaming PC - G6 Storm X3
Description
G6 Storm X3: i7 12700F + RTX 5060 Ti, 1080p Ultra With Headroom
The G6 Storm X3 is the gaming PC i7-12700f rtx 5060 ti build for the buyer who wants 1080p Ultra with real ray-tracing headroom, and an entry 1440p target where DLSS 4 quality is doing the work. Intel’s 12-core Core i7 12700F (8 Performance cores + 4 Efficiency cores, 4.90 GHz Turbo, 25MB Smart Cache) pairs with the Nvidia RTX 5060 Ti 8GB to land the step up from the entry-tier RTX 5060 onto a card with 30% more shader throughput, fourth-generation NVIDIA RT cores, and DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation. Hand-built in Wolverhampton against the same workshop process Ginger6 has run since 2001, the G6 Storm X3 ships fully tested with a 3-year warranty and lifetime UK phone support.
5060 vs 5060 Ti is the live question for buyers at this price band, and the answer is workload: the 5060 Ti runs about 25-30% faster in shader-bound workloads on the same i7 12700F platform, which translates into 1080p Ultra with ray tracing engaged rather than ray tracing as a toggle, and entry 1440p where the 8GB VRAM remains the ceiling. Step down to the G6 Storm X1 with the RTX 5060 8GB if your panel is 1080p high-refresh and your rotation leans competitive; step up to the G6 Storm X5 with the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB when your panel is 1440p and your library is texture-heavy. Not certain which Storm fits? Call Kevin on 01902 714533. He builds the machine, answers the phone, and gives a straight answer based on your setup, not a sales tier.
Inside the Vida Zephyr White mid-tower with ARGB case fans, the 12700F runs under the Intel stock cooler sized for the 65W base power and the sustained gaming load this build is sold for (gaming workloads run on a subset of cores at any given moment, comfortably inside the stock cooler’s sustained-load ceiling). The Gigabyte H610M K V2 carries the LGA1700 socket with the H610M chipset, two DDR5 DIMM slots populated with 16GB DDR5 5200MHz (2x8GB) Dual Channel memory in dual-channel mode, an M.2 NVMe slot for the included 1TB Gen 4 SSD, 1GbE Realtek LAN, and Wi-Fi connectivity supplied by an included 300Mbps USB Wi-Fi adapter. Power comes from the 650w G6 80+ Bronze PSU, sized with sustained-load headroom above the 12700F plus RTX 5060 Ti combination. The G6 Storm X3 sits inside our £1200 gaming PC tier and the wider Intel gaming PC range, specifically the Intel Core i7 gaming PC range. Browse the full Ginger6 gaming PC catalogue, the RTX 5060 Ti gaming PC range, the 1080p gaming PC range, or the 1440p gaming PC range for context.
The G6 Storm X3 is suited to competitive shooters like Apex Legends, to open world and RPG games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Black Myth: Wukong, and Starfield, and to sandbox and creative games like Minecraft, plus the wider Ginger6 catalogue for any title not named here.
What’s Inside the G6 Storm X3
Every component selected for 1080p Ultra ray-traced gaming on the i7 12700F platform, with entry 1440p where DLSS 4 quality carries the demanding scenes. Dual-channel DDR5, NVMe Gen 4 storage, ARGB case fans on the Vida Zephyr White, and the PSU sized with the headroom the RTX 5060 Ti actually needs under load.
The i7 + RTX 5060 Ti 1080p Ultra Sweet Spot
Three reasons the G6 Storm X3 is the build that lands on this spec.
The 5060 Ti is the Ray-Tracing Step Up
The RTX 5060 Ti carries about 25-30% more shader throughput than the RTX 5060 on the same Blackwell architecture, and the same fourth-generation RT cores doing more work. At 1080p Ultra that translates from ray tracing as a toggle (on, frame rate visibly drops; off, frame rate stays comfortable) into ray tracing as a baseline (on, frame rate stays comfortable). DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation extends the same headroom into the most demanding modern AAA scenes.
i7 12700F Leaves the GPU as the Ceiling
The 12700F is comfortably ahead of the RTX 5060 Ti at 1080p Ultra and at entry 1440p. The CPU never throttles the GPU, frame pacing stays clean, and 1% lows in competitive shooters stay well above the average refresh rate of any high-Hz 1080p panel. Headroom that reads as smoothness, not as idle silicon, and the same i7 that you would build with a Storm X5 step up to RTX 5060 Ti 16GB or a Storm X6 step up to RTX 5070.
Mature 12th-Gen Platform at the RTX 5060 Ti Price Band
The Storm range lands the i7 cache and thread count at a price the RTX 5060 Ti can justify. The 12700F silicon is mature, the BIOS is settled, the LGA1700 socket has the upgrade path, and the H610M K V2 board is the right entry chipset for a gaming buyer who is not chasing extreme overclocks or onboard Wi-Fi 6. The 14th-gen K-series tier buys a small gaming uplift on a structurally more expensive platform.
What the G6 Storm X3 Plays
Four workloads the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB on the i7 12700F is sized for at 1080p Ultra and entry 1440p.
Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth Wukong, Alan Wake 2, Hogwarts Legacy, the latest open-world releases all run at 1080p Ultra with hardware ray-traced lighting engaged. DLSS 4 quality carries the most demanding scenes higher still. The 5060 Ti is the card that turns ray tracing from a setting you toggle into a setting you leave on.
Counter-Strike 2, Valorant, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch 2, Rocket League run with frame rates well above any high-refresh 1080p panel. 1% lows stay clean because the 12700F carries the network thread, the voice stack, and the recording engine on the E-cores while the P-cores own the game.
A 1440p panel is comfortably inside the RTX 5060 Ti’s reach with DLSS 4 quality engaged. Modern AAA at 1440p with DLSS 4 holds well above 60 fps; competitive titles at 1440p run into the high hundreds. The 8GB VRAM is the ceiling at 1440p with heavily textured mods; the Storm X5 with the 16GB version is the natural step up if your library is texture-heavy.
OBS NVENC encoding on the RTX 5060 Ti, browser, chat, voice, recording, and the game thread can all run at the same time without the 12700F blinking. The 8 Performance cores own the game; the 4 Efficiency cores carry the background workload. Light video editing in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere at 1080p is comfortable on this combination outside gaming hours.

5060 vs 5060 Ti: Where the Storm X3 Lands
The Storm X3 is the answer to a specific buying question: 5060 vs 5060 Ti on the i7 12700F at 1080p Ultra. The Storm X1 below carries the RTX 5060 8GB for 1080p high-refresh competitive and 1080p Ultra with ray tracing as a toggle. The Storm X3, this build, carries the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB for 1080p Ultra with ray tracing engaged and an entry 1440p target where DLSS 4 quality carries the demanding scenes. The Storm X5 above carries the same RTX 5060 Ti at 16GB for the 1440p buyer with a texture-heavy library. Three siblings on the same CPU, three GPU answers to three different monitor and rotation pairings.
The 5060 Ti runs about 25-30% faster than the 5060 in shader-bound workloads on the same Blackwell architecture and the same fourth-generation RT cores doing more work per frame. At 1080p Ultra in modern AAA, that headroom is the difference between ray tracing as a toggle and ray tracing as a baseline. At entry 1440p, that headroom is the difference between a build that needs DLSS 4 performance mode (visibly upscaled) and a build that holds 1440p with DLSS 4 quality (indistinguishable from native in motion). The 8GB VRAM remains the ceiling at 1440p with heavily-modded textures or full-detail open worlds at maximum draw distance; for that workload the Storm X5 with the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is the step up.
Every Storm X3 is hand-built in Wolverhampton with the same workshop process Ginger6 has run since 2001. The 12700F is seated on the H610M K V2 with the Intel stock cooler and ARGB case fans on the Vida Zephyr White; cable management routes the GPU cable behind the cable shroud away from the front intake to support better airflow inside the case and reduce dust build-up around components; BIOS settings, DDR5 5200MHz dual-channel mode, NVMe boot order, and on-board firmware updates are confirmed before the 24-hour stress test begins. The test gate covers thermal behaviour under sustained CPU plus GPU load, memory stability under DDR5 timing, NVMe storage performance, and frame pacing in modern AAA at the resolution this build is sold for. After delivery, Kevin is reachable directly: the 3-year warranty covers parts and labour, and lifetime UK phone support means the person who built the machine is the person who answers the phone if anything needs attention.

Who the G6 Storm X3 Is For
Four buyer profiles where the G6 Storm X3 is the right answer.
You play modern AAA at 1080p and you want ray tracing left on rather than toggled. Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, Black Myth Wukong, Hogwarts Legacy with hardware ray-traced lighting engaged are the workloads where the RTX 5060 Ti is the right answer on the i7 12700F. DLSS 4 quality carries the most demanding scenes higher still; DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation lifts the headroom further in compatible titles.
You play on a 1440p panel (the new sweet-spot resolution) and you are comfortable using DLSS 4 quality as a baseline. At 1440p with DLSS 4 quality, the RTX 5060 Ti holds modern AAA well above 60 fps; the competitive rotation runs into the high hundreds. If your library is heavily-modded with high-resolution textures the 8GB VRAM is the ceiling, and the Storm X5 with the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is the natural step up.
You play CS2, Valorant, Apex, Fortnite on a 240 Hz 1080p panel and you also stream, record, or edit alongside. The RTX 5060 Ti is overkill for the competitive rotation at 1080p (and that is exactly what you want for clean 1% lows); the 12700F’s 12 cores carry the OBS encoding stack, the browser, the chat, the patch downloads on the E-cores while the P-cores own the game. Light editing in DaVinci Resolve or Premiere at 1080p is comfortable on this combination outside gaming hours.
The X3 carries the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB; the X4 above carries the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB; the X5 above carries the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. The X3 is the buy if you want DLSS 4 + Nvidia ray tracing on the 1080p Ultra / entry 1440p target. The X4 is the buy if you prefer the AMD path with 16GB VRAM headroom at 1440p (FSR rather than DLSS). The X5 is the buy if you want both Nvidia ray tracing AND 16GB VRAM headroom at 1440p. All three share the i7 12700F and the same workshop process.

Outstanding service from Kevin and the team. The PC arrived perfectly packaged, beautifully built, and runs my games flawlessly. The advice on the spec was completely no-pressure and saved me from overpaying for parts I did not need. Could not recommend Ginger6 more highly.
Brilliant gaming PC, the build quality is superb and the value compared to the bigger builders is excellent. Delivery was quick, packaging was top notch, and the machine boots fast and runs silently. Already telling friends and family.
Very pleased with the new PC, runs everything I throw at it. Kevin took the time to walk me through every component on the phone before I ordered, and the test paperwork in the box was a nice touch. Lifetime UK phone support is exactly the reassurance you want at this price.
Built by Hand in Wolverhampton
Every G6 Storm X3 goes through the same three-stage workshop process. The 24-hour stress test is the gate that holds dispatch.
Before assembly begins, the configuration is reviewed against the games you play, the monitor you own (1080p high-refresh or 1440p), and any creative work or streaming you run alongside gaming. If you have spoken to Kevin, the build sheet reflects that conversation. Components are verified against current stock, the Intel stock cooler mounting hardware is confirmed for the LGA1700 socket on the Vida Zephyr White, and the build is queued in the workshop schedule. The part on the order is the part in the build.
The G6 Storm X3 is assembled inside the Vida Zephyr White. The Intel stock cooler is seated on the 12700F with the cold-plate contact verified, and the ARGB case fans on the front and rear are configured for direct intake. The RTX 5060 Ti is seated with the anti-sag bracket. Cable management routes the high-current GPU cable behind the cable shroud, away from the front intake, supporting better airflow inside the case, reducing dust build-up around components, and making future maintenance simpler. BIOS settings, DDR5 5200MHz dual-channel mode, NVMe boot order, the on-board firmware update, and the included 300Mbps USB Wi-Fi adapter driver are all confirmed before the 24-hour test begins. This is a pre-dispatch step, not part of the 24-hour test itself.
Every G6 Storm X3 runs sustained CPU plus GPU load for a full day before it ships. The test loop covers thermal behaviour under sustained boost, memory stability under DDR5 5200MHz dual-channel timing, NVMe storage performance under sustained read/write, and frame-pacing behaviour in modern AAA at 1080p Ultra with ray tracing engaged. The 12700F is monitored for thermal headroom across all 12 cores; the RTX 5060 Ti is held at sustained boost. Boost behaviour, fan curves, stock-cooler thermal performance, and storage performance are all logged before despatch. Your G6 Storm X3 ships free to mainland UK addresses, fully insured and tracked.
- Thermal behaviour under sustained load
- Processor and graphics stability during extended use
- Memory responsiveness and system stability
- Storage performance and consistency
- BIOS and firmware stability
- Frame pacing in modern AAA at 1080p Ultra with ray tracing

Questions About the G6 Storm X3
The RTX 5060 Ti runs about 25-30% faster than the RTX 5060 in shader-bound workloads on the same Blackwell architecture, with the same fourth-generation RT cores doing more work per frame. At 1080p the 5060 is the right answer if your panel is high-refresh and your rotation leans competitive (CS2, Valorant, Apex). At 1080p Ultra with ray tracing engaged in modern AAA, or at entry 1440p with DLSS 4 quality, the 5060 Ti is the right answer. The 8GB VRAM is the same on both cards; the ceiling at 1440p with heavily-modded textures is the same. The 16GB version of the 5060 Ti on the Storm X5 lifts that ceiling for 1440p texture-heavy workloads.
Yes, at entry 1440p with DLSS 4 quality engaged. Modern AAA at 1440p with DLSS 4 quality holds well above 60 fps; competitive titles at 1440p run into the high hundreds. The 8GB VRAM is the ceiling at 1440p with heavily-modded textures or full-detail open worlds at maximum draw distance, which is the workload the Storm X5 with the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is sized for. For 1440p without DLSS 4 in the most demanding modern AAA, the Storm X6 with the RTX 5070 12GB is the step up. The 12700F is comfortably ahead of the RTX 5060 Ti at both 1080p Ultra and 1440p, so the CPU is not the ceiling on either.
Both carry the i7 12700F, the Gigabyte H610M K V2 board, the Intel stock cooler, the 16GB DDR5 5200MHz (2x8GB) Dual Channel kit, and the 1TB Gen 4 NVMe drive. The split is the GPU VRAM and the PSU: the X3 carries the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB on a 650w PSU in the Vida Zephyr White; the X5 above carries the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB on a 750w PSU in the Vida Edge. The X3 is the buy for the 1080p Ultra ray-traced gamer or entry 1440p with DLSS 4 quality. The X5 step-up is the buy for the 1440p gamer who needs the 16GB VRAM headroom for heavily-modded or texture-heavy libraries.
The 12700F is the i7 most 1080p Ultra and entry 1440p gaming buyers should be looking at. Three years on from launch, it is still a 12-core part with 20 threads, 4.90 GHz P-core Turbo, 25MB Smart Cache, and the P-core/E-core hybrid layout the 14th-gen i7 still uses. In modern gaming workloads the gap between the 12700F and the 14th-gen 14700K is smaller than the price gap suggests, and the F variant (no integrated graphics, locked multiplier) lands the build at a price the RTX 5060 Ti can justify. For buyers who specifically want the 14th-gen 14700KF on a Z790 platform, the Galactic range is the natural step across.
For modern AAA at 1080p Ultra and entry 1440p, yes. 16GB DDR5 5200MHz arrives as a 2x8GB dual-channel kit (the canonical Ginger6 form, never a single stick) so the memory controller runs at full bandwidth from boot. The H610M K V2 board has two DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB total; if your workload scales into 1440p video editing or heavier creator work, a like-for-like step up to 32GB (2x16GB) dual-channel is the obvious first move. The dual-channel kit pattern is preserved on every upgrade path Ginger6 quotes.
Two upgrade paths. Add a USB Wi-Fi adapter that includes Bluetooth at checkout, or step the motherboard up in the configurator to a B760M-class board with onboard Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Either path keeps the rest of the build identical.
Yes. The LGA1700 socket supports current-generation Intel chips; the Gigabyte H610M K V2 has two DDR5 DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB, the M.2 slot for the boot drive, a SATA upgrade path for secondary storage, and the 650w G6 80+ Bronze PSU has the headroom for a one-tier GPU upgrade in future. A 2TB Gen 4 NVMe drive is the obvious first upgrade as your library grows. Call Kevin when you are ready to upgrade, and he will quote the parts and the labour for a workshop installation if you would prefer not to swap them yourself.

Excellent service Review by Tony
Price Value Quality Customer Service I needed a new PC for general home use, but looking at the specifications of off-the-shelf models, realised that my understanding of them was both lacking and outdated. Enter Kevin at Ginger6, with whom I spoke by phone for a good while. With his expert knowledge of both hardware and software he was able to talk me through the various options for a bespoke model to my exact requirements, including future-proofing, all for a most competitive price.
With new-found knowledge of my baseline specs, had I then gone back to “high street” models, I would have had to pay over the odds to get a lot of other, higher specs that I would never need.
After receipt of my Ginger6 PC (free delivery) it was nice to able to get Kevin’s advice immediately on recommended software settings when setting it up, and I am very pleased with it. Overall, the whole process of choosing and buying a new PC was much simplified, courtesy of Ginger6, who will be my first choice for any future purchases. (Posted on 05/12/2024) -

Great Service! Review by Hoods
Value Quality Price Customer Service Originally, I was a little bit hesitant due to not knowing much about computers. However, some very basic research paired with a solid website containing helpful advise and a easy UI and displayed information made the whole process of picking what was desired easy. Build time and delivery was as said to be and the computer works flawlessly and came as ordered.
The only aspect that felt a little lacking was communication, there were no real issues but suddenly getting an email on the night prior to delivery was a suprise. A nice one, but one that could have maybe have a prior email detailing the build being finished. (This is just me being pretty nitpicky though.) (Posted on 10/04/2024) -

My first gaming PC Review by Mitchell Millard
Value Quality Price Customer Service I purchased a gaming computer firstly on ebay where I saw there advert but eventually went over to there website as you can add more components to your PC or upgrade the parts to suit hour needs and affordability. I used them because they had good ratings and something like a PC I wanted to make sure I was dealing with honesty and professionalism which is what I got. If your in the market for a gaming PC these guys are your first port of call. I'm a novice with anything computer wise and I felt totally confident in letting them know this. I knew I wouldn't be scammed or ripped off. I'm very happy with my PC and the customer service was also very good. I wouldn't hesitate in using them again, in fact I know I will when the day comes for a possible upgrade. Thankyou Ginger 6 computers...Really please with the PC you built me. (Posted on 02/12/2022)

Very Positive Experience, Especially the Customer Service Review by Andrew
Value Quality Price Customer Service When I decided it was time to retire my old PC I did a lot of searching online for somewhere to buy a new one from. I was very unsure as I hadn't heard of most of the companies, and as I was going to be spending a lot of money, I couldn't get the choice wrong. Thankfully, reviews on here helped. So, to pay it forward here is mine.
I found the Ginger6 website easy to use when building what I wanted for my new PC. However, not being an expert I called them and spoke with Kevin, who was very helpful as we went through the list of what I wanted and what I needed.
After I placed the order the PC arrived within the expected time frame that I was given.
There was a technial issue with my new PC, but as soon as I contacted them they were on the case until it was resolved. Hopefully it is now, but if not, I know that the will be as helpful as possible until it is sorted out.
I would 100% recommend Ginger6 to anyone who needs a new computer at any level. These people know their stuff and they're very customer focused. (Posted on 13/11/2022) -

(This is just me being pretty nitpicky though.) (Posted on 03/05/2021) -

Quality Price Value Customer Service Excellent communication from initial discussion of the specification I required, to the delivery day of the system.
Could not fault the service whatsoever. Build time was extremely fast too.
You fulfilled my order without any issues......which is getting rather rare these days!
Thanks all,
Rob. (Posted on 19/12/2018) -

Sweet black magic Review by Gary Mulder
Value Quality Price Customer Service Sweet black magic! Ginger6 built my ultimate PC. I challenged Kevin from Ginger6 to build a gaming rig that put all his knowledge and skills to the test. I wanted to ultimate gaming experience with the very latest multi-core Ryzen AMD CPU and multiple NVidia GPUs. He provided expert advice on both the best price-performance and his extensive experience with different hardware vendors. I knew I was in good hands when he carefully chose the exact right components at extremely competitive prices. He took the time to design and build the ultimate PC and intensively burn-in and test every component for excellent stability. The box looks cool in black and back-lit LEDs and hums along almost silently under the heaviest demands. (Posted on 30/08/2018)

A good quality and I have advised many friends to come here and make purchases, they have done so with equal success!
