What is a Good CPU for a Gaming PC Depends on your Budget

Low Budget (£600 - £1000)

All of these processors offer great performance for the price and will allow you to play most current games on medium to high settings.

Medium Budget (£1000 - £1500)

A good CPU for a gaming PC that falls within this budget range is either going to be an AMD Ryzen 7 or an Intel Core i7. When it comes to gaming, processors are key in determining how well a computer will perform. While the more expensive CPUs offer better performance, they also come with a higher price tag. These processors offer good performance without breaking the bank, and they should be able to handle most games released in the near future without issue.

Higher Budget (£1500+)

If you're looking to build a high-end gaming PC, you need to go with a more powerful CPU.

As technology advances, the graphics processors (GPUs) in gaming PCs become more powerful and efficient. So in a higher end Gaming PC you will need a processor that can keep up. You should be looking at an AMD Ryzen 9 or Intel Core i9 CPU.

AMD vs Intel

The newest generations are generally the most expensive,but can also offer newer and faster features. Depending on your budget, it may be a good choice to go with an older generation where you may be able to get an i7, instead of the newer generation which you might only get an i5 for the same price.
